Use your noodle to create a clever doodle!

pad of paper
pencil
marker
colored chalks or colored pencils
eraser

SOMETIMES WE USE MATERIALS THAT REQUIRE ADULT SUPERVISION...LIKE SCISSORS...SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AROUND WHENEVER YOU DO CARTOONING!

  1. Start by drawing a teardrop shape with a pencil. Then, draw a line going across where the eyes would be, and a line going down the middle of his face. These are guidelines, to show that he’s facing forward.
  2. Switch to marker, and draw 2 C’s on each side of his face for eyes. Then draw 2 small circles on the inside, and big bushy eyebrows - going up, so he looks happy.
  3. Draw an almost-circle for a big round nose, and a large line for a mouth to show a big smile.
  4. Where his smile meets his cheeks, draw a little line on each side of the mouth. Next, make a large smile line, for a big mouth, and a line going across for teeth.
  5. For ears, draw 2 C’s on each side of his head, and a sideways V shape on each side.
  6. Draw curly hair. A little more on one side will give him more character.
  7. For his neck and collar, draw 2 lines coming out of his chin and 2 sideways M’s underneath on either side.
  8. Erase the guidelines and get ready to begin coloring.
  9. Use bright colors, like orange for the face and yellow for shirt. Draw red lines radiating from his face to show happiness.
