This homemade wind chime is a breeze to make…and makes a fabulous holiday present! All you need are some glitter, scissors, and string to get started!

ruler
scissors
glitter glue
hole punch
clear plastic lids
fishing line or string
wooden Stick
bells, shells, or anything else that will make your wind chime jingle

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE A SEWING NEEDLE, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Cut the rims off the plastic lids, then cut out seven fun shapes from the clear plastic. Stars are good shapes to use.
  2. Punch a hole in the top and bottom of each star. Then tie 10-inch long pieces of fishing line to the top of each star (you can also use string if you don’t have any fishing line at home). Make sure the stars are evenly spaced on the stick.
  3. Attach the jingle bells by using short pieces of fishing line (about 4 inches long) to tie each one to the bottom of a star.
  4. Make a “hanger” for your wind chime: tie the ends of a 6 to 8 inch piece of fishing line to each end of the stick, and tie the two pieces together.
