Homemade Wrapping Paper

Got a gift but no wrapping paper…don’t stress! Scott Sicari will show you how to make some homemade wrapping paper! So grab some kitchen sponges and some scissors and you'll be on your way!

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

1. Start out by creating fun sponge 'stamps,' which you'll use to make cool designs on sheets of white paper with different colors of paint. Decide on your shapes, take a marker and draw out your design onto a regular kitchen sponge, then cut out your shape. You can also trace cookie cutter shapes onto your sponges for a fun twist.
2. Lay a sheet of your craft paper out on flat surface, and pour out some of your paint colors onto the paper plates you’ve put aside.
3. Start painting your paper! Dip one of your sponges into some paint, making sure to cover the entire surface then sponge. Stamp the sponge 2-4 times over the surface of the paper.
4. When your sponge marks start to look faded, it’s time to add more paint! So, just dip your sponge back into the color and stamp some more. Feel free to move on to different sponge stamps and paint colors!
5. You can add a little sparkle with a sprinkle of glitter. Just sprinkle it over the wet paint to give your wrapping paper some extra pizzazz! Now just let your paper dry before you use it!
