Ghost Effect

SOMETIMES WE USE MATERIALS THAT REQUIRE ADULT SUPERVISION...LIKE SCISSORS...SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AROUND WHENEVER YOU DO CARTOONING!

1. Using a marker, loosely draw a long thin oval shape for the face.
2. Draw small eyes close to each other, with 2 curved lines on each side. Draw a pointy nose, and a crooked line going downwards for a mouth.
3. When you draw the eyebrows, draw them going up, and one a little higher to add character.
4. Draw 2 large C-shapes for ears, and trace around the face. Draw a few lines inside the ears for details and a few lines for hair.
5. Erase all pencil lines. Draw a couple lines for shoulders and a V on his neck for a collar.
6. Ghosting effect: Draw a curved light line on one side. Draw his nose facing the other way, on the same level as his nose, but lighter. Complete the face, and create the same thing on the other side. This will make it look like he turns his head really fast.
7. Add color: use light peach for his face, red for cheeks and green for his shirt. Lighter colors for other faces.
8. Now take some purple and draw swirly lines to make it look like he’s moving. Don’t be afraid to draw over his face. Draw in tears of sweat and write words like “gulp!” and “What…” to show his fear.
