What do you get when you put a bell, an onion, and a football together? Three great shapes to make cartoon cats!

Pad of paper
Pencil
Marker
Colored chalks or colored pencils
Eraser

SOMETIMES WE USE MATERIALS THAT REQUIRE ADULT SUPERVISION...LIKE SCISSORS...SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AROUND WHENEVER YOU DO CARTOONING!

  1. Draw a bell, a football and an onion. All are great shapes for drawing cats.
  2. Bell: Draw an upside down triangle in the middle of the shape. This will be your cat’s nose.
  3. Draw 2 curved lines coming out of the bottom for a smile, and dots and lines for whiskers.
  4. Draw a large oval above nose for eyes, draw a line that cuts in half and add in eyelashes. Draw eyes under lines and add eyebrows.
  5. Draw 2 triangles on top for ears, and create a tongue using the bottom of the bell.
  6. Football: Follow the same steps above. But this time, draw 2 small circles for eyes.
  7. Onion: An onion has a strong smell, so you want to draw a strong cat. Put the triangle nose way up high, and make his smile huge.
  8. Draw in tongue, and 2 small eyes that are close together.
  9. Make the eyebrows facing down, so he looks mischievous, and his hair going straight up.
  10. Using this technique, we have created 3 different personalities. Key: simplify their features!
