Now there's nothing tricky about drawing a cartoon seal. But this seal CAN do a trick! Supplies: pen and paper

Pad of paper
Pencil
Marker
Colored chalks or colored pencils
Eraser

SOMETIMES WE USE MATERIALS THAT REQUIRE ADULT SUPERVISION...LIKE SCISSORS...SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AROUND WHENEVER YOU DO CARTOONING!

  1. Make a shape like a thick boomerang or bent sausage. On the top right side, draw an oval and a small nose on top.
  2. Draw a smile, dots and whiskers. For the eyes, draw an upside-down half circle and draw the pupils looking up.
  3. Make his eyebrows up, because he’s a happy seal. Draw over his body shape with marker, and stop at the bottom middle.
  4. Draw his flipper. Finish drawing the body, and erase pencil lines.
  5. Draw his back fins and his other flipper coming out from behind his face. Draw a beach ball sitting on top of it.
  6. To make your ball spin, lightly draw 2 vertical lines on each side, then swirly lines going around the ball to show movement.
  7. You can put your seal in the circus by putting him on a pedestal: Draw jagged lines under his bottom flipper.
  8. Draw an oval shape for pedestal, 2 lines on either side and a curved line to close it up.
  9. Draw a line underneath, but somewhat behind it, for the ground.
  10. You can complete your circus by showing people watching: Draw a light, curved line behind him for stands and lines coming down. Draw small flags and small circles and dots for people.
  11. To color your picture: black chalk on side and color inside your seal, shading in the top and bottom lines. Use yellow and red for beach ball and pedestal, and peach for people in stands. Use brown for floor and sawdust.
