REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE A SEWING NEEDLE, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Plant stakes add a touch of whimsy to any plant and they make great mother’s or father’s day gifts! To create the ladybug's head and body, start by wrapping one half of a black pipe cleaner around the black and large red pompons. Twist the ends of the pipe cleaner together under the bug's body to hold them together.
  2. Slip three pieces of red pipe cleaner between the black pipe cleaner and pompons on the underside of the bug. Then bend them to form the legs.
  3. When you’re done making the legs, the next step is to create the antennae. Slip a multicolored pipe cleaner under the black pipe cleaner on the topside of the bug just behind the black pom-pom. Twist and shape the pipe cleaner to form the antennae and trim off any extra pipe cleaner.
  4. When you are finished making the body of your lady bug, it’s time to give her a personality by adding facial features! Glue on some googly eyes and a red mini pompon for the nose. If you don’t have googly eyes or a small pompom, you can always cut these features out of construction paper. Next, cut out a red mouth and black spots from the red and black foam and glue them onto the bug.
  5. The last step is to attach the bug to the stake. To do this, tightly wrap some red and white pipe cleaners around the top of the dowel and hook the end of the pipe cleaners to the black pipe cleaner on the underside of the bug. And here you have a fabulous plant stake perfect for any gifting occasion!
