Are your favorite trading cards and postcards just sitting in a box under your bed? Well pull them out and learn how to turn them into your very own customized curtains.

a stack of trading cards, playing cards, or colored paper
single hole punch
ribbon
string
clip rings
scissors
curtain rod
ruler
pen

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. First, pick out what kind of cards you would like to use for your curtains. Using a ruler, find the center of each of the four sides of your card, and mark them with your pen.
  2. Next, take your hole punch and punch holes in all four marks. Use this first card as a template to mark the rest of your cards. Then just use the marks to punch the rest of the holes out on your cards.
  3. Cut your string into 4” pieces. We’ll use the string to piece together our curtain. You’re going to need about 25 pieces of string.
  4. Lay two cards next to each other, matching up the holes. Put the string through one card, then the other, and tie the cards together. Then put two more cards below the ones you’ve just tied. Make sure you match up the holes and then tie strings through both cards. Keep tying your cards together until they are all attached to each other and you have a “curtain” that is the same size as your window.
  5. Attach clip rings to the punched holes at the top of your curtain like this. These clip rings will allow you to attach your curtain to your curtain rod.
  6. Finally, slide the rings on to our curtain rod and voila…it’s ready to hang on your window!
