sheet of white cardstock
scissors
pencil
blue fine tip marker
double stick tape
ruler

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Take your 5.5 inch by 8.5 inch blue card stock and a piece of 5x8 inch cream colored card stock, and fold both pieces in half so you have 2 cards.
  2. Take the cream piece of paper and make two cuts on the fold that are 1 inch apart from each other, one 2 inches from the top, and the other 2 inches from the bottom. The cuts should be horizontal, about 1 inch into the card. Fold the piece that you have just cut into the card so when you open it you have a raised tab.
  3. Attach the blue card to the cream card with double stick tape. Attach the cream card to the inside of the blue card.
  4. Cut a piece of cream paper from the card stock that is 2.5 inches by 5 inches. Attach it to the front of the card with double stick tape.
  5. Cut a “tie” shape out of the dark blue cardstock, then cut it out. Cut out some white strips for it, and attach them with double stick tape.
  6. When your tie is done, attach it to the front of the card, on top of the cream paper, with double stick tape.
  7. Cut out a small circle from the white cardstock that’s about and inch wide. Cut out a heart that’s about 1.5 inches in diameter from the bright blue card stock, and tape the white circle on top of the blue heart.
  8. Tape them to the tab you created with the cream card stock in the center of the card. You’ll probably have to fold them in half so they’ll fit on the tab better. This will be the pop-up part of your card!
  9. Use the fine tip pen to write a nice message on the heart and on the front of the card.
