Get ready to build a sun out of sand! Join host David Billings as he shows you how to make this terrific sand sculpture! All you'll need are some water and sand to get started!

5 gallon bucket
shovel
spoon
2 different spatulas
beach shovel
water
sand

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE PROJECTS ALONE.

Start by moving some sand around with your shovel. Dig a hole and add water, while packing it down to make sand firm.
Add a pile of sand to the top. Use a spatula to cut straight down and create the outer edge of the sun. Create a triangle for a nose.
Cut out eyes with your spatula, making diamond shapes. Continue cutting around the edges at an angle to create a 3D effect.
Cut lines for eyebrows, and use your fingers to clean up. Cut lines on either side of nose and use a spoon to make pupils.
Use a shovel to draw a line down from the center of nose. Draw angled lines to cheek lines and cut out the mouth also using your shovel.
Using your knife, round out the cheeks. Use your spatula to dig around the face.
Cut triangles for rays around the face using your shovel. Finally, use a spatula to make the rays look more realistic.
