REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. For each flower you’ll need a stack of 8 to 12 sheets of tissue paper. You can use different colors.
  2. Take your stack and fold it accordion style, into 1 inch folds. You can make different sized flowers by changing the size of the tissue paper squares and the amount of layers of paper you start with.
  3. Once you have about 5 or 6 different sizes of tissue paper folded, take each flower and cut a V-shaped notch at the center of the folded paper.
  4. Take a pipe cleaner and one of your flowers, and twist one end of the pipe cleaner around the notch to keep paper together.
  5. Gently pull apart the paper on each flower layer by layer, and fluff the paper upwards to create the flower’s shape.
  6. You can try rounding out the edges with your scissors before you form the flowers to create different petal shapes.
  7. Try making a new flower by cutting diagonally to create pointy edges.
  8. Paint one side of your shoebox with a coating of a glue mixture that is 1 part water and 2 parts glue.
  9. Rip tissue paper into pieces that are approximately 4”x4”. Immediately cover your box with the paper in a decopage style. Paint another coat of glue on top of the paper and continue to layer until your box is covered. Use the mixture as your last layer to seal everything up. When you’re done, let everything dry for about 30 minutes.
  10. Glue the block of floral foam to the inside center of the box.
  11. Attach wooden skewers to the pipe cleaners and stick them into the foam to secure your flowers.
