Pirate Lampshade

Are your boring lampshades bringing you down? Well, snap out of it…because it’s time to get Made in the Shade.

black and red paint
strip of red fabric for bandana
scissors
black and grey wool yarn
1 large googly eye
black and white pom-poms
glue
pirate mask
pirate hat
eyepatch
hook
telescope
gold coins

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

1. Paint the base of your lamp red and your shade with horizontal black stripes.
2. Glue alternating black and white pom poms around the edge of the base.
3. Cut out your pirate’s hair using the black and grey yarn. You can cut different lengths, since pirates have messy hair.
4. Lay out your red fabric and place mask in the center. Lay a line of glue down on the bandana.
5. Glue hair on either side of bandana and tie it around your lampshade. Take off mask.
6. Tie bandana around the top of your lampshade and tie it in a knot.
7. Put on his pirate mask.
8. Glue the googly eye to your mask.
9. Glue the eyepatch to your mask.
10. Put the lampshade on its base.
11. Cut a small hole in the top of your pirate hat to let the heat from the light through. Place it on top of your lamp.
12. Glue your hook, telescope and gold coins to the base and ARRRR! Your pirate lamp is ready!
