A litter of sock puppies have just been born on the farm and they don’t know how to talk like the pups do. Join in the fun as they go on a journey of discovery. Will they learn their own language? Grab your sock puppy and help them figure it out! REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE OBJECTS THAT COULD BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE PUPPETS ALONE.

  1. Using the stencil, trace out the puppy's mouth on the posterboard.
  2. Do the exact same thing for the foam tongue, the red felt mouth, and the fur ears.
  3. Cut out the mouth, tongue, and fur ears.
  4. Now is glue your posterboard mouth to the toe of the sock.
  5. Glue the tip of the sock and then roll the edge of the sock and press it against the posterboard.
  6. Once the edge is glued down to the sock…you can glue the rest of the posterboard to the sock.
  7. Now attach the felt mouth, fur ears, and foam tongue. Reach inside your sock and turn it inside out so that the posterboard is now on the inside.
  8. Glue the red felt mouth onto our puppet, smoothing out the piece of felt and make sure that there are no wrinkles.
  9. Take the felt and glue it over the seam at the toe of the sock and over the posterboard inside the sock.
  10. Take your piece of batting and rolling it in half. Use a dollop of glue to keep it in place. Now push your batting into the sock..
  11. Now put your hand in the sock and bend your posterboard mouth in half.
  12. Now use your other hand to push the batting so that it rests on top of your fingers when the mouth of your puppet is closed…and not on the posterboard.
  13. You are going to use the 1 inch white pom-poms and the small black pom-poms to make your eyes. Now it’s time to decide where you’d like your eyes to go…once you decide use your scissors to make a small cut in the sock to mark each spot..
  14. Glue a white pom-pom on each scissor marrk, making sure you glue the pom-poms to both the sock and the batting.
  15. Now take your small black pom-poms and use them as the pupils of your eyes. Attach one to each white pom-pom with your glue.
  16. The large black pom-pom is going to be the nose. Glue on the nose at the end of the mouth.
  17. Take your glue gun and put a small dollop on the end of your tongue and then attach it to the inside of the mouth.
  18. The last things that we have to attach are the puppy ears. Have your parents use the glue gun to attach the ears behind the eyes of your puppet.
