Corn is a Thanksgiving tradition…and corn husk dolls make great holiday decorations! So set a festive mood this Thanksgiving with a homemade craft.

6 corn husks (dried from craft store)
twine
scissors

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Soak 4 corn husks in water until pliable.
  2. Gather 4 husks together, tie them at the top with twine, and trim ends.
  3. Pull loose ends down over knot to form a ball for the head.
  4. Tie with twine to secure. This will make the head.
  5. To make the arms, take 2 corn husks and tie off the ends using twine to create hands.
  6. Slip the arms in between the husks hanging down from the head and secure just below to form the waist.
  7. Take some twine and tie off the body underneath the arms to create a waist. Trim twine pieces.
  8. Trim skirt up a bit so she will sit evenly on the table. If you’d like to make a boy doll: separate skirt into 2 legs and tie each leg off with twine at the knee and ankle.
