REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE OBJECTS THAT COULD BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE PUPPETS ALONE.

  1. Trace the patterns using blue for the two head pieces.
  2. Use light blue felt for the hands. Cut out 2 of each side, flipping them alternately, so you create the fronts and backs of the hands. You will have 4 hands when you’re done.
  3. Use purple for the robe, cutting out two pieces for a front and back. Use white pencil to trace.
  4. Cut out the pieces you've traced.
  5. Glue two body pieces, leaving the neck, cuffs, and the bottom of the robe unglued. Glue two of the felt hand pieces together to create a hand. Repeat for the second hand. Glue the two head pieces together at the edges. Let dry for about a half hour.
  6. Use bubble circles for eyes. Draw pupils on white paper and add some purple around them. Take your bubble circles, peel the sticker off the back and line them up with your eyes before sticking them on. Trim around the bubble circles. Trim some eyelashes out of black felt.
  7. Use some black to make the mouth as well. Make lips out of red felt.
  8. Make some red flowers for the dress, and set them aside.
  9. Fill the head with stuffing by pushing the stuffing through the neck hole. Also push a little bit of stuffing into the arms and the robe.
  10. Insert the dowel rod up through the robe and into the head.
  11. Glue the neck, robe collar, and bottom of robe to the dowel rod.
  12. Glue the hands into the cuffs.
  13. Seal up the belly, putting the rod directly in the middle.
  14. Assemble the face. Glue on the eyelashes first, then the pupils on top, followed by the mouth and lips.
  15. Decorate the dress with the red flowers you made.
  16. Make some antennas by making some snips into the head. Inset pipe cleaners into the holes and add a dab of glue to secure them.
