This number toon is complete with a surprise visitor! So draw along with Bruce Blitz as he transforms the number 6 into…

paper
pencil
marker
colored chalks or colored pencils
eraser

SOMETIMES WE USE MATERIALS THAT REQUIRE ADULT SUPERVISION...LIKE SCISSORS...SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AROUND WHENEVER YOU DO CARTOONING!

  1. Write the number 6.
  2. Inside the closed part, draw 2 u shapes for eyes and eyebrows going up. Draw a u shape for a nose and a confident smile. Add some large ears on the side and lines on the top for straight hair.
  3. Draw another line coming out from the middle of the top of his head, going in the same direction as the other line. This will be his body. Draw a line connecting them about halfway down.
  4. Make the top part look like a pair of shorts. Add 2 legs and feet to show he’s diving. Add 2 arms, bent at the elbows coming out behind his ears.
  5. Draw two thumbs connected and the fingers pointing down. Add a wiggly line underneath for water. Add a line or two underneath to show depth.
  6. Add a couple light lines to show motion. Draw in a few drops of perspiration.
  7. Make an upside down V to the right of him to draw a shark! Add two eyes on either side with eyebrows facing down. Add his smiling mouth with sharp teeth.
  8. Draw in his fin, and add a tongue. Draw in M-M-M for a caption. Draw a thought balloon around it.
  9. Use light blue for the water, grey for the shark, red for the tongue and his polka dotted shorts, peach for the boy’s body. You can also add some red to the motion lines.
