On cold winter days, you need something that will really warm up your spirits and nothing does that better than a cup of hot cocoa! Toast your taste buds with this delicious chocolate concoction.

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
dash of salt
1/3 cup hot water
4 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
whipped cream

TOOLS:
whisk
medium saucepan
rotary beater
ladle
spoon
mug

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS COOK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE OBJECTS THAT COULD BE HARMFUL, LIKE A KNIFE, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO DO THESE RECIPES ALONE.

  1. Whisk together cocoa powder, salt and sugar in medium saucepan.
  2. Add water. Cook this mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil for 2 minutes.
  3. Reduce temperature to a medium low. Add milk, stirring constantly. Heat it to serving temperature. Do not boil, or you will get a skin from the milk. If this happens, just remove the skin.
  4. Add vanilla.
  5. Beat with rotary beater or whisk until foamy.
  6. Ladle some hot cocoa into a mug.
  7. Spoon in some whipped cream, and it’s ready to drink!
