Magician Ryan Oakes and his assistant Damian are going to show you how to read minds!

box of crayons

SOMETIMES WE USE MATERIALS THAT REQUIRE ADULT SUPERVISION…LIKE SCISSORS SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AROUND WHENEVER YOU DO MAGIC TRICKS!!

  1. Have a spectator hold four different colored crayons. Tell him you will turn your back to him and that you’d like him to place one of the crayons into your hands. Then he should hide the other crayons so you can’t tell which one is missing.
  2. Turn and face the spectator and ask him to concentrate on the color he selected. With both hands behind your back, use your other hand and rub off some of the crayon onto your thumbnail.
  3. While pretending to read his mind, pull out that hand and look at your thumbnail to see what color he has chosen. You will then correctly name the color of the crayon in his hand!
