Valentine's Necklace

Impress someone special this Valentine’s Day by giving them some homemade jewelry! This conversation heart necklace is personal and unique!

white, pink & red felt hearts (of varying sizes)
foam letters
gold chain
gold cord
heart jewels
glue
scissors

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

1. Take three pink felt hearts and lay them out on the table.
2. Decorate them by placing smaller white hearts over top of them. If they don’t have a sticky back, you can use glue. These will be the charms of your necklace.
3. Next, attach a jewel on top of each heart charm using glue. Let these dry for about ten minutes.
4. Take out four more felt hearts: Two white and two pink. Use your glue and foam letters to make words like 'love' and 'kiss' on each heart.
5. Cut seven 1 1/2” pieces of gold cord.
6. Attach the back of each heart charm to a piece of cord at the end. Use glue if the they don’t have sticky backs. Thread the other end of the cord through a hoop in your gold chain and then loop it around to stick to your heart. Attach another heart of the same color to the back using glue to cover up the cord. Your first charm should be attached at the center of the chain with the remaining charms attached afterwards at equal distances from each other. Once completed, you will be able to wear your new necklace!
