Every fairy princess needs a wand to cast her spells. This wand will help a princess cast her spells in style.

Foam star
Silver ribbon
LED light
Four Gold pipe cleaners
Gold glitter
Scissors
Glue
Wooden skewer
Paint brush

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Take a Styrofoam star and make a small hole in it between two of its points using a pair of scissors. This whole is where the LED light will go so try not to make it too big. Take your LED light and poke it right into the hole to make sure that it fits and stays in place.
  2. Once you’re sure that the light fits, take it out can cover your entire star with glitter. Spread glue all over the star, using your paint brush to cover it evenly on all sides.
  3. Next, cover the star with glitter on all sides, using a paper plate underneath to catch the excess. Place the star aside to dry for 1-2 hours.
  4. Once your star is dry, place your LED light back inside of it through the hole you made. Make sure it stays in there nice and tight with the end still sticking out of the star. The end is where you’ll attach the handle for your wand.
  5. Now it’s time to make the handle. Take a wooden skewer and cut it to about 7 inches.
  6. Take a pipe cleaner and thread it through the small loop at the end of your light. If your light doesn’t have a loop, you can always attach it using tape. The pipe cleaner should be threaded through the loop about halfway. Then, bend it in half where it’s attached to the light and make a twist with it.
  7. Take your wooden skewer, hold it next to your pipe cleaner, and then wrap the ends of the pipe cleaner around it tightly. If it’s easier, you can take the light back out of the star while you do this.
  8. After securing the skewer to the light, it’s time to cover the rest of it with more pipe cleaners. To do that, take three more pipe cleaners and join them together at the ends to make one long one. Then, wrap your long pipe cleaner around the rest of the skewer by holding the skewer up against it and turning it over and over until it’s completely covered. Cut off any left-over pipe cleaner.
  9. To add a little more pizzazz to your wand handle, take some silver ribbon and cut out six strips of various lengths, no bigger than 3 feet each. Take all of the strips together at the middle and tie them around the base of the light at the end of your handle. Double not the ribbons just to make sure they stay on.
  10. Curl out the ends of your ribbons by opening your scissors and carefully running the blade along each one.
  11. Finally, turn on your LED light, insert it back into your star and your magic wand is complete and appears to be magically blinking!
