A princess would not dare get caught without her hat and veil before she goes out for a party. This hat and veil will be the talk of the kingdom at your next party.

Rainbow colored paper or poster board
Star stickers
Purple tulle
Feather boa
Scissors
Tape
Stapler

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Take your rainbow colored paper and fold the bottom right corner up to the top to make a triangle shape, and then cut off the excess strip. This creates a square that you will then make into a circular shape by cutting off the corners to give the paper curved edges.
  2. Cut your round piece of paper in half along the original fold line.
  3. Discard one half and roll the other into a cone. Secure the cone with tape.
  4. Use scissors to trim off any excess paper around the bottom of the cone to make the rim even. Now you have the basic shape for your princess hat.
  5. Decorate your hat with sticky stars. If you don’t have sticky stars, you can use glue and glitter or simply draw decoration onto it.
  6. Wrap a feather boa around the bottom rim of the hat, and attach it using a stapler (or glue). You should add a staple every two inches around the hat and cut off any excess boa once you’re finished.
  7. Time for the veil. Cut three to four pieces of purple tulle, each about four feet long.
  8. Take all of the tulle pieces together and fold them in half. Then, make a small hole at the tip of your hat using scissors (if there isn’t one already), and twist and thread the folded end of the tulle through it. If you’re having trouble, you can use your scissor to push it through.
  9. Reach into your hat to make sure the tulle is secured, then try it on!
