REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Print out your Castle and Background templates. Cut them out. The castle template should include shapes for a grassy hill, the main castle, and two conical rooftops, each a different size.
  2. Trace the elliptical background template onto your blue fun foam and cut it out. You can always use blue construction paper if you don’t have fun foam. On the back of your green sticky felt, trace your grassy hill shape and cut that out. Next, trace and cut out your castle shape onto the back of your pink sticky felt. Finally, take your rooftop shapes and trace four smaller ones and one larger one onto the back of your red sticky felt, then cut them all out.
  3. Arrange all of your shapes onto the blue fun foam. The grassy hill should go on the bottom, with the castle in the middle overlapping it. Two smaller rooftops should go just behind the top of the castle to the left and right of the center tower, and then the other two small ones will go to the left and right of those over top of the castle to look like side towers in the front. The larger rooftop will go over the center tower of your castle. Once everything is arranged, peel the backs off of the sticky felt shapes and attach them in the same way you laid them out before. Be sure to attach your two back rooftops before your castle as they should appear to be behind the others.
  4. Once everything is attached, use silver glitter glue to outline your castle and draw in the towers under your front rooftops. Then add a door, ridges, and windows to the inside of your castle and towers. Draw a stone pathway winding down from the door of the castle across the grassy hill. When you’re finished, set your sign aside to dry for 1 to 2 hours.
  5. After the castle has dried, add glitter sticky letters (or just use more glitter glue) to spell out your name and the word ‘kingdom’ in the middle of your castle above the door. For example, if your name is Lisa, you would spell out “Lisa’s Kingdom.”
  6. Finally, cut six inches of silver ribbon. Make two wholes in the top of your sign with scissors and thread the ribbon through them. Tie the ends of the ribbon together and you can hang you sign wherever you want!
