One latex balloon
Cornstarch
Permanent markers
One small funnel

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Take a large balloon and blow it up to stretch it out a bit. Let it sit for a bit and then let out the air.
  2. Once your balloon is all stretched out, stick a funnel into the opening and pour some cornstarch through the funnel into it. You don’t need too much, just enough to fill the deflated balloon. Tap down on the funnel to let the starch fall all of the way into the balloon.
  3. Remove the funnel and tie a knot into the opening of the balloon to seal in the cornstarch.
  4. Time to decorate the balloon. Use markers to draw a scary monster face onto it.
  5. Let the marker dry for about ten minutes and then give the balloon a good squeeze to make your monster face bulge out!
