REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Start by making a flap opening for your purse. To do that, lay an oatmeal container on its side and measure a one inch border from each end. Using those borders as a guide, create a rectangle.
  2. Use an X-acto knife to cut the two short lines and one large line of the rectangle. Score the fourth line (cut only halfway through so it doesn’t come off completely) so that the flap you’ve made will be easy to open and close.
  3. Paint your entire container/purse pink. Make sure to paint over the lid of the container too. The lid has to stay on so that nothing will fall out of the purse from the side. Once painted, set it aside to dry for about an hour.
  4. Poke two holes through the top of your purse on either side of the flap.
  5. Take the lid off of your container/purse and thread a gold pipe cleaner through one of the holes you’ve made. Twist the end of the cleaner into a ball to keep it there.
  6. Take some beads and thread them onto the free end of the pipe cleaner. Then thread the free end of the pipe cleaner back through the other hole in the purse and ball up the end to secure the beaded handle in place.
  7. Put the lid back on the side of the purse and decorate the whole purse with your round and flower stickers.
  8. Cut out pieces of feather boa long enough to wrap around each end of the purse. Glue them around each end and set everything aside to dry for an hour.
  9. To make the clasp for the purse, take a gold pipe cleaner and coil the end into a swirl. Cut the rest off. Poke a hole into the purse just beneath the opening of the flap and thread the end of the coil through it. Ball it into a knot onto the inside to secure it. Cut about five inches of ribbon and tape the end to the inside of the lip of the flap in the middle. Close the flap and wrap the ribbon around the coiled clasp to figure out the length that the loop needs to be. Cut off the excess of the ribbon and tape the other end inside the flap to create the loop to fit around the clasp and close the purse.
