REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.
- With scissors, cut out a shape of your choice from some blue sticky foam for a side decal on your truck. Peel off the backing and stick the foam to the side of your plastic bottle, which will be the tank for your truck. If you don’t have sticky foam, you can always use construction paper and glue.
- For the cab of your truck, find a small Chinese food container. Trace the bottom of the food container onto your blue sticky foam and cut out the shape. Peel off the backing and stick it to the bottom of the container, which will be the top of the cab.
- Take your tank and your cab and arrange them together on your black foam board to trace the shape of the truck’s chasse. Make the shape a little shorter because the tank will actually be inserted into the cab later. Cut the shape out with an X-acto knife.
- With the X-acto knife, cut out a hole in the back of the cab big enough to insert the spout of the bottle/tank. Use the bottle to trace the hole if needed.
- Time to start decorating the cab. Use a marker to draw a windshield, door, and windows.
- Take a silver pipe cleaner and fold it in half twice. Unfold it and cut it apart at folds to make four pieces of equal length. Poke four holes in a straight line on each side of the front of the cab. Insert the ends of the pipe cleaners into the holes side by side. Now the cab of your truck has a grill!
- For the headlights, cut a gold pipe cleaner in half. Take each half and bend an inch of it to a 90 degree angle. Coil the rest of it into a spiral on each. Poke two holes into the front of the cab where the lights should go and stick the coils through the holes.
- Glue the cab and tank of the truck to the chasse with the tank inserted into the hole of the cab by the spout. Set it aside to dry for 30 minutes.
- Now it’s time for the wheels. Take six non-stick furniture pads and loosely screw three onto each long side of the truck. Don’t screw them in too tightly or they won’t spin.
- Decorate your side decal with sticky letters or paint and you’re ready to roll!
