Grab a piece of paper and get ready for some folding fun! Join Origami host Emily as she transforms an ordinary piece of paper into a beautiful goldfish.

A standard 6 or 8 inch square piece of origami paper

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Starting with the white side of the paper facing up, take the bottom point and fold it up to the top point, creasing from the center outwards.
  2. Next, take the left and right bottom corners of the folded paper and fold them up to the top point, creasing to make a square.
  3. Turn the paper around so that the open flaps are now facing you. Fold both flaps up to the new top point and crease.
  4. Take the points of the flaps and fold them outward so that they stick out slightly from the rest of the square.
  5. Take the top bottom flap and fold it up just enough to line up with the other folded flaps that stick out.
  6. Fold the leftover from that flap as far up as it will go.
  7. Flip the paper over. Fold the bottom flap all the way to the top and crease.
  8. Turn the paper back over, open it up, and collapse it in half.
  9. Fold the point on the right slightly inward to make a small triangle.
  10. Take a pair of scissors and cut under the bottom flap of the paper all the way to the creased triangle you just made. Turn the paper over and make the same cut on that side.
  11. Fold the side opposite to the one you just cut down and then in half to make the fin of the fish and you’re done.
