A fresh loaf of bread is delicious! But when the loaf has money inside it, it's even better! Join host Ryan Oaks for another magical mystery!

Small dinner roll
2 coins
Cloth napkin
Cloth placemat

SOMETIMES WE USE MATERIALS THAT REQUIRE ADULT SUPERVISION…LIKE SCISSORS SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AROUND WHENEVER YOU DO MAGIC TRICKS!

  1. Before you perform the trick, you need to secretly insert one of your coins into your dinner roll through the bottom. Push it through the bottom until it’s completely hidden, and be careful not to push it through the top of the roll. Also, don’t name the trick out loud. Otherwise your audience will be onto you.
  2. To begin the trick, lay out a cloth placemat onto a table top. Lay your cloth napkin out over the placemat in a diamond shape with the points going towards you and your audience.
  3. Place your second coin into the center of your napkin. As far as your audience knows, this is the only coin you’re using since you hid the first one before the trick.
  4. Take the corner of the napkin facing you and bring it up to the opposite corner, folding the napkin in half and making a triangle shape. The coin will remain folded inside.
  5. Carefully roll the coin up into the napkin, all the way to the top points. Try to roll the napkin as neatly as possible, leaving the two folded points at the top sticking out.
  6. Next you’ll lift the napkin up from the table with the coin inside, but you’ll need to do it a special way. Lift from the center, holding the top point of the napkin against the rest and letting the bottom point fall and hang.
  7. Have an assistant or audience member feel in the center of the rolled napkin if you want to show them that the coin is still wrapped inside.
  8. As you place the rolled napkin back down on the table, make sure the hanging point comes back down facing the other way. It should fall back behind the rest of the napkin towards you while the point you were holding up falls back in place in front of the napkin.
  9. Wave your hands, snap your fingers, or say some magic words to really sell the trick.
  10. Now, open the napkin back up by pulling the two free points out in opposite directions. When you do this, the napkin will unroll and flip the coin to the opposite side underneath it. Your audience will think it disappeared! The cloth placemat should muffle the sound of the coin hitting the table.
  11. Lift the napkin up from the back. This will show the audience that the coin isn’t inside anymore while concealing it on the placemat. Be sure not to lift it all of the way off the table.
  12. Lay the napkin down and act like that is the end of the trick. Make conversation with your audience and casually pull out your dinner roll for a snack.
  13. Break open the roll by pushing from the top to the bottom and reveal the hidden coin inside. Your audience will think this is the coin that vanished from the napkin!
