This year, put a festive spin on your springtime by making this colorful homemade Pinwheel!

Origami foil or paper
Pencil
Bead
Scissors
Pin
Tape

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Take a piece of Origami foil or paper and fold it diagonally to make a triangle.
  2. Unfold the paper and fold it diagonally the other way.
  3. Unfold again. Using scissors, cut a third of the way down each fold line towards the center of the paper to create flaps.
  4. Fold in the right corner of each flap to the center to create your pinwheel.
  5. Take a straight pin and poke it through the center of your pinwheel. Be sure to poke through all of the folded points when you do this to fasten them to the middle.
  6. To make the pinwheel easier to spin, take a bead and thread it onto the pin at the base of the pinwheel.
  7. Carefully push the pin all the way through the eraser of your pencil to attach the pinwheel to it.
  8. Bend the end of the pin down once you’ve stuck it through the eraser to secure the pinwheel to the pencil. Tape the sharp end to the pencil and you’re done!
