REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE CRAFT PROJECTS ALONE.
- Take some decorative contact paper and wrap it around an empty canister. If you don’t have contact paper, you can just paint the canister.
- Time to make the face. Take two large googly eyes and glue them right onto the canister over the contact paper.
- Take a green pipe cleaner and cut off a 2” piece for the nose, a 3” piece for the mouth, and cut the remainder in half for the ears.
- Bend the nose piece in half to make a v-shape. Glue it onto the canister beneath the eyes with the v pointing downward.
- Curve the mouth into u-shape or smile. Glue it on beneath the nose and set everything aside to dry for 20 minutes.
- Take your two ear pieces of pipe cleaner and bend them into circles. Twist the ends to secure them and round them out.
- Take a utility knife and poke holes on each side of the canister’s face to insert the ears through. This is a good job for your adult helper. Make sure the holes line up.
- Insert the ends of the ears through the holes.
- Fill the grass head with dirt all the way to the top.
- Sprinkle grass seeds all over the top of your dirt.
- Add a final layer of dirt over the seed. Water regularly and watch Greg the Grass Head’s hair grow!
