Want to make a beautiful plant that never needs any watering? Then grab some paper and fold this springtime surprise alongside origami master, Michael LaFosse. It makes a perfect gift or even an invitation!

Two 2x10" pieces of paper, both the same size (1 green for the plant and choose another color for your flower)

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE PROJECTS ALONE.

  1. Take 2 pieces of paper (1 green for the plant and choice another color for your flower). Both must be the same size ( 2-10 inch, square size).
  2. Plant-white side up diamond shape. Take bottom corner and match it with top opposite corner (creating a triangle).
  3. Place bottom left and right corners together bring left to right and flatten.
  4. Open back up.
  5. Bring right corner to the top and flatten.
  6. Bring left corner to the top and flatten paper.
  7. Turn paper over to the other side leaving right and left corners at the top.
  8. Make a kite shape make bottom edges line up with center crease one at a time (roll corner into center).
  9. Turn paper over to front side.
  10. Open first middle edge to the other side.
  11. Open other edge to the opposite side.
  12. Turn paper to back and roll bottom corner to the middle corner and flatten allowing it to stand up.
