Magician Ryan Oakes shows you how to take an ordinary piece of notebook paper and turn it into a shining star! All it takes is a few folds and one magical wave of your scissors!

SOMETIMES WE USE MATERIALS THAT REQUIRE ADULT SUPERVISION…LIKE SCISSORS SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AROUND WHENEVER YOU DO MAGIC TRICKS!
- Lay your piece of paper flat on the table. Take the bottom right corner and fold it up to the top edge to create a perfect triangle. Crease sharply.
- Rotate the paper so that the base of your triangle points towards you. Take its bottom right corner and fold it all of the way over to its bottom left corner. Crease again but you don’t have to crease all of the way up from the new corner, just enough for it to serve as a guide.
- Unfold your last fold to see a guideline down the center of your triangle. Now fold the bottom right corner upward, slightly more then halfway. Crease all of the way to make another triangle.
- Fold the new triangle over to the left right along its crease to make a v-shape.
- Fold the v over to the left along its crease.
- For the final fold, bring the new right edge of the paper down along the bottom edge.
- Unfold everything to check yourself. You’ll know you’ve done this correctly if you unfold and see that all five parts you’ve created in the folds are evenly spaced out.
- Refold everything back the way you’ve have it once you’ve double-checked.
- With the help of an adult, take your scissors and cut across the folded paper about two to three inches from the bottom point to make a small triangle.
- Unfold the paper you cut to show your audience the star. You can also unfold the paper you cut from to show the star-shaped hole that has appeared!
